New starter to Reception
We are so excited to welcome our new Reception children and their families to our school community in September 2026.
Whether you are new to our school or continuing your learning journey with us from Nursery, we can’t wait to have you join our vibrant community. This is the beginning of a wonderful adventure filled with curiosity, discovery, and joyful moments. Our classrooms are ready with caring staff, engaging activities, and a nurturing environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and eager to learn. Transition information
National offer day
On National Offer offer day you will receive a welcome email that will include the new starter forms that we will need completing and also initial important new starter information, this will be sent to the email address used for your school application, if this is not received please contact the main school office.
Welcome Meeting
We will hold a welcome meeting for all new parents and carers during the Summer term. This is a great opportunity to meet the reception team, headteacher and other new families. At the meeting we will let you know your child's class and teacher, as well as share key information about school routines, expectations and how we will support your child's transition into reception.
Storytime visit
In early July, we will invite your child into their new classroom for a Story Time session with their parent. These small‑group visits are a lovely opportunity for children to meet their new teacher and some of their future classmates while having a familiar adult by their side. This gentle introduction helps build early confidence before the September start.
We really value the opportunity to meet each child in their home environment before they begin school. Home visits help us build a personal connection with your child and family, offering a calm and familiar space where your child can begin getting to know us.
Our school staff will carry out home visits at the beginning of the Autumn Term. A sign‑up sheet will be available at the Welcome Meeting so you can choose a date that suits your family.
Stay and Play sessions
Before starting school, children will be invited into school in small groups for a Stay and Play session, either in the morning or afternoon. These sessions take place without parents, giving children a chance to explore the Reception classrooms and outdoor areas, interact with their peers, and meet the teaching team in a relaxed setting. We ask that children wear their school uniform for this session. Stay and Play sessions will take place during the week before they begin school with their full class.
First Day of School
Both reception Classes will begin school full time on Thursday 10th September 2026.
