Bags to school
Please can you help us!  We will be giving all parents a plastic bag at the Gates in October for you to fill with adults & children’s clothing, bedding, soft toys, paired shoes, hats, belts and handbags.  We will then organise for the bags to be returned to school and sent away and we will then be paid £500 for every tonne the school collects.

Autumn/Winter hanging baskets or refills
After the success of the summer plants, we pleased to offer you the opportunity to order some more hanging baskets or refill packs.  They will consist of Lavender, Ivy, Cinneria (silver leaf), Primula, and either 3 mixed pansy or 3 mixed Viola.  Hanging baskets are £8.50 and refill packs are £7.  Please complete the response form, include payment and return to the school office by Wednesday 5th October 2011.  If you would like more information please contact me.

Friends of Hazeldene is a registered charity that brings together parents, guardians, grandparents and teaching staff – all with the common aim of improving resources and facilities to enhance the education of every child at the school. 

What we do? 
Our biggest fundraisers are our annual Summer and Christmas Fayres, and in 2012 we organised our first ever Fireworks Display at the school. We also hold regular Children’s Film Nights and School Discos for the children, and family events such as quizzes and bingo.

Every penny we raise is invested back into the school – whether it’s donations towards school trips, purchasing new play equipment or funding enrichment days for the whole school. We recently contributed towards new furniture for the swimming pool changing rooms, new audio equipment for the main hall, and lighting for the outdoor classroom.  

How can you help?
We are always keen for new ‘friends’ to become involved, but that doesn’t have to mean snoozing your way through our monthly committee meetings (although you’re more than welcome!).

Are you able to help with refreshments at events? Do you know a local business that could donate a raffle prize? Can we put your name down to run a stall at the Summer Fayre? Do you have ideas for new events we could hold, or unusual ways to raise money?
